Background to "Telling the Stories of St Nicholas, Berden"

In 2025 Berden PCC were awarded a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Thanks to National Lottery players. These funds are to be used towards the restoration of St Nicholas Church tower and to run an interesting and educational programme of Heritage activities in 2026 – 2027.

In line with the Heritage Fund investment principles all our activities will aim to

  • Save Heritage
  • Protect the environment.
  • Be accessible, inclusive and encourage participation.
  • Help build organisational sustainability.

We hope to engage our community to learn more about their history and heritage.
